It’s pretty tight and really easy.

All you gotta’ do is navigate to a web page. Then, in the search field where you normally would do web searches from, type out what you want to find on the page.

If it’s located on the page, you’ll see “On This Page”. Then scroll down to the bottom of the results. It’ll either show you zero results or show you how many are listed.

Then Safari will jump to each instance of the word that exists. Hitting the “Next” button jumps you through each one.

Easy. Although it isn’t too noticeable until you know this feature exists.

I go to load up a news story, and once I load the page up, I notice I can’t navigate the page because something’s floating above the page blocking me. What is it? It’s a form of web pop-up made just for iPhones.

As you can see in the images below, it’s not an actual third party advertisement. It’s actually an ad to try and put a bull **** icon onto my precious home screen for the crappy eweek.com web site. (eweek.com is one of the worst new sites.) You can see from the pics that the “pop-up” positions itself perfectly in both orientations.

I could easily hit the little “x” button to close it out and continue reading the article in peace, but **** that. I instead took screen shots of it (for the purpose of this post) and then closed it out.

Why? Because I do not respond well to web sites that use allowing pop-ups, and I also don’t respond well to web sites that pull bull **** like this. If *I* want to chose to bookmark a web site, *I’ll* do it. I don’t need a web site suggesting it to me. And certainly not putting a crappy web icon on my precious home screen.

As web sites become more and more interactive, polished and catering to iPhones, you’ll also have some web sites that go in the opposite direction, such as eweek.com.

Peace, JbB

I mean it’s ridiculously small.

Well they’ve updated their search site to include nice, big, fat text that’s easy to see ‘n’ read. Nice. Also the list of suggestions, although still as weird and goofy as ever (“Why is my poop green”), are also nice and big.

But there’s still a major problem. If you need to add text to the end of a search you already made, but the end of the text was beyond the area you could see, you can’t reach it. This was a problem before, and is still a problem now. At least we have the option now to “x” out the text in the search box, but that can be a big pain for anything long and complex. And the text field, of course, doesn’t support auto-correction, so that can make retyping your text a “orivlem” (problem).

But over all, I think this is a great update. Now I wish they would release an app or mobile site to allow us to edit and create Google Docs.

They have now, and they’ve updated Adblock so it’s safe to buy it again if you use OS 3.0. And if you bought it before OS 3.0, like I did, your license will work for the 3.0 version.

When doin’ this, you wanna’ clear your history.

You clean your history by going into your bookmarks, then going to history, then tapping the clear button. Easy enough.

But here are two tips I’ve got for ya. When you go to clear your history, make sure to close all tabs. Once you have only one web page open, navigate to a safe web page, such as Google.com. Then go and clear your history.

The reason why it’s best to do this is because I’ve noticed if you close out web pages and navigate somewhere else, then close, once opened it sometimes will open the web pages that were supposed to cleared from the history.

The other tip is that clearing your history doesn’t log you out of web pages. If you are logged into a web page, log out before you close that tab and clear the history.

And that’s it… Real simple, but if you don’t follow these simple steps, you may end up with some of your web browsing exposed. Be safe with your browsin’ now…

It happened again a few days later, but this time I decided to try killing Safari. It worked. Took less than 10 seconds to get Safari working.

Here’s how it works, when you want to kill a program, press and hold down the home button for about 6 seconds. Do this while Safari is open. Keep in mind any pages you had open will be closed.
