Ok, a music producer bud of mine also happens to work for T-mobile’s tech support out in Washington. I happened to speak to him today about the problems I was havin’ usin’ Edge.
I don’t use T-mobile’s normal internet. Na, I ain’t payin’ $25 extra a month for mobile internet. What I was doing was using the “phone only” internet plan, where you pay $10 a month for 50 MBs of data a month. T-mobile wants you to pay for their $25 unlimited “3G” plan, but as I’ve mentioned before, it’s impossible for any iPhones to use T-mobile’s 3G network because the bands are different than AT&T’s. So your basicly paying for unlimited 2G internet, which is fine because I have a 2G iPhone for that exact reason.
So what my bud told me is that T-mobile has started doing auditing of their data and billing each month, either to make sure customers aren’t getting chraged twice, or that they’re doing it in a way to try to push users into upgrading their plans, or both.
I already know there’s a way to get the $9.99 Internet back, such as putting my SIM card into my “non-smart” phone and call into T-mobile to reactivate my Internet, but my bud says T-mobile will do the same thing at any given time that month.
I really don’t know if I wanna’ go through that hassle, ya know? It all depends. For now, I’m just planning on turning the Internet off. I’ll keep ya updated if anything changes though.

So some former Blizzard developers, the company behind World of Warcraft (Rogues do it from behind…) have left the company and are starting an iPhone app company called Booyah. They have a few YouTube, comedy-style promotion videos.
The whole thing is to create hype about their project and to tell you a liitle about their project while holding back info to try to, again, create hype by making you wonder “What the ‘freak is it?”.
I’ve read some misleading news postings about what the company is, some sites saying they’re making an online app game for iPhones. Na, na, na… that’s dead wrong. They describe what Booyah is on their site. Booyah’s another social networking service. *sigh* How original…
Basicly, “Booyah’s” going to be a web site service (driven mainly by an iPhone app that’ll connect you to the service) that’ll allow you to post comments, photos, ratings, your grand mother’s panties, the kitchen sink, ect for moments that make you feel happy. Oh, wait, these geeks try’ta be “hipster”, so it’s not “happy moments”, it’s “booyah moments”. Ugg…
Basicly, they’ve got a huge amount of money they’re throwing behind a social service (to make money from ads, such as an iPhone app) that will fashion itself like Twitter meets Facebook, but trying to fill an untapped nitch, the “need” for people to post about moments that make them… happy?
Yeah, that’s exactly what we need, moments to post when we’re happy. After all, why enjoy that happy moment when you could be posting about being… happy? Come on…
Basicly, they want to be two things; filthy rich (as if they didn’t make enough money workin’ for Blizzard) and to become famous like what’s-their-faces who created Facebook or Twitter.
Do you think the world really needs their service? …Prob not. Do I think it’s a good idea? Sure, as a non-profit or barely-for-profit project like Twitter started, then sure. But everything about Booyah sinks of big dollar. I mean, how many thousands do you think they spent on just the domain name, booyah.com?
It’ll be interesting to see if my vibes are dead on about’em.
Peace, J

Oh I love the Dev-Team, the developers who make it possible to jailbreaking iPhones. They announced that the iPhone 3.0 OS is absolutely jailbreakable. I was like “The iPhone 3.0 OS is great, but I’m not gonna’ be too excited until I know I’ll be able to get a jailbroken version.”
Well, the Dev-team says it’s a done deal, so I’m excited now. PC World thinks the Dev-team may have a jailbroken version of 3.0 OS the day after the official version is released this summer. Yeah baby.

So get this, Wordpress has released a new version of their free Wordpress app. This baby adds horizontal support for typing with the larger keyboard. That must have been from the announcment from Apple that they would allow programmers access to the iPhones feature to use the keyboard in landscape mode. So clearly usin’ Wordpress in landscape mode is from the 3.0 “SDK”.
So far, it’s nice usin’ this in landscape mode. Landscape is better for usin’ with two hands, but of course portrait keyboard is better for one hand. The good news is that it can be used either way, just rotate your iPhone / iPod Touch.
Another nice feature is the ability to edit pages. Not posts, but pages, such as “Contact” or “About”, things that have content.
They also allow for comment moderating. When someone posts a comment, rather than havin’ to go on your computer to accept a comment, you can do it from the Wordpress app.
The last thing they have is the option to resize photos. That’s a great feature for people who’er wantin’ to upload large photos from their photo library, but I’m not sure if it’s needed for uploading screen shots or pics taken with an iPhone. The pic I’ve included now is usin’ the reduce picture size setting.
Peace, J

Update: I’m not sure why, but the one photo I included from a pic I took earlier today got posted upside down. Not sure why, kinda’ funny. But I’m hopin’ this is either a one time thing, or something they’ll fix.
Update: Ok, I left out mentioning that they added support for creating links. I left it out because I didn’t see any option for links. But I checked online and you create a link by typing out the start of a link. Here’s an example. Wired News
Just that easy.

Update: So yeah, Wordpress has announced that there is an image posting bug that does rotate photos upside down ‘n’ crap, so they’ll release a fix for it soon. That’s cool then.
