A lot of people want to know how to tether their internet connection using their iPhone without being jailbroken. Well baby, I’m gonna’ hook you up. Well here’s how to do it, and although this is a more complicated way to do it than the walk-through I gave before (iPhone OS 3.1.2 AT&T Tethering Jailbreak How-to ), but this one will work if your in different countries.
How to Activate and Enable Free Internet Tethering on iPhone 3.0
- Open Safari
- Visit either http://help.benm.at/tethering.php or http://www.iphone-notes.de/mobileconfig/
- Select your country

- Select your service provider

- Tap Install to install the new profile

- Select Install Now to install and download the new profile

- Now go into your iPhone Settings -> General -> Network -> Internet Tethering (look, internet tethering setting, yeah baby)

- Turn Internet Tethering On

- When it talks that junk about bluetooth, just tell it USB Only if your connecting your iPhone via cable.

- Now that tethering is turned on, just connect your iPhone to your computer and your set (yeah baby)

- There’s one last thing to do (something that other web sites seem to leave OUT)… Your iPhone may / will act screwy, so go to Settings -> General -> Reset ->Reset Network Settings. After the short reset, iPhone should be able to be used for MMS, Voicemail and Internet tethering.

And there you have it. Nice ‘n’ easy like Georgia Weezy, am I right?

Update: Tethering does in fact work for OS 3.1.2 jailbroken or unjailbroken, and there’s the proof.

I updated from Windows 7 Enterprise release candidate to Windows 7 Ultimate recently, and when I did, iPhonebrowser stopped working. Turns out I wasn’t the only one.
Well an updated version of iPhonebrowser has come out that fixes the issue. So go out and download it. I happened to have “Windows XP” compatibility mode still set for iPhonebrowser, so that caused it to not work right. But after taking that off (to let the program run as normal), everything worked out fine.

Check it out, I found a way to enable internet tethering for OS 3.1.2 for AT&T. This isn’t some crappy third-party app or half-baked hack that promises to work but doesn’t… If your jailbroken running OS 3.1.2, it enables the stock tethering feature of internet tethering from Apple. Best of all, you can install it all from Safari without anything extra.
- In Safari, go to http://m.peacefulinsanity.com/Tether.mobileconfig.
- Touch “Install” and go through all the prompts.
- Reboot.
- Now go to Settings > General > Network > Internet Tethering
And that’s it. You now got internet tethering. And yes, I’ve tried it on both the Neocell 3GS and my girl’s iPhone 3G and it works on both. Pretty bad ***, huh?

I’m here to tell you all how to remove those sharp tiny little corners and wrinkles that form in your full body Invisibleshield. In an earlier post, I just applied a full body Invisibleshield on top of the new gold and wood plating of my new iPhone 3GS.
Problem with full body protector shields are the very tiny little wrinkles and corners that raise up. Sure, they’re very tiny and hardly noticeable, but when you feel your iPhone in your hand, it scratches and scrapes against you. That beautifully smooth, silky feel of your iPhone goes away. It’s replace with a rough, unpleasant feel. You just wanna’ poke and push at the corners each time you pick up your phone.
But there’s a way to remove those tiny little “nubs”. First, give your shield protector a few days (a week even) to fully cure to make sure all edges fully work themselves down naturally, but also spend some time trying to work them down by rubbing the edges against a table or other hard, flat surfaces. Then, get some nail clippers (the smaller the better) and simply snip those tiny little nubs off.
And… that’s it. Just take some nail clippers and very carefully clip those horrible little nubs off. No matter how professional of a job you, or someone else does for you, you will have sharp edges on the back of your iPhone, but now you know how to take care of it. Feel free’ta share your experience with Invisibleshield or other shield protectors.
Peace, J
