Backgrounder Workin’ Again
Yes… ‘Freakin’ yes… Backgrounder, the jailbroken app that let’s you run programs in the background, has finally started workin’ for me again.
For a while now, Backgrounder just wouldn’t work for me. It worked for one day and then stopped. Disabled Vwallpaper just a few minutes ago and Backgrounder starts working for an unknown reason? No, I think there’s a reason..,
The iPhone OS is great at handling program freezes. When a program freezes, instead of it locking up the system, the OS cleverly just closes that program. Most of the time, programs freeze because they run out of memory.
If Vwallpaper was causing a lot of memory to be used to render the video, then whenever I would try to minimize a program, the program would run out of memory (because the system had to display the video background) and that would cause the program trying to run in the background to freeze and then close. It seemed like Backgrounder wasn’t doing it’s job because the program would close instead of minimize, buy na… the program was crashing, because of all the memory being sucked by Vwallpaper.
So man, it’s not lookin’ good for Vwallpaper. I can’t have it messin’ up the system like that. I’m gonna check it out some more though.
Peace, J
