Some core files have been found in the iPhone OS 3.0 that contain files for doing voice control and voice dialing. There’s no telling if any of these things will be in the OS 3.0 update, but the files are there in the new OS so I’m positive it’ll be a new feature.
The features could be voice dialing (“Call J’s cell”) and voice control (“Open iPod”). There may be some more unique uses for it, but honestly I don’t think iPhones need it at all. That’s the point of them not doing voice dialing. Voice dialing was created because navigating to contacts on all other phones was a huge pain, and almost impossible while driving. The user interface is so slick, it’s easy to navigate to where you need to be. That’s why they didn’t include voice dialing.
But this is the reason why they should, and need, to include it. Simple things iPhones don’t need, like voice dialing, are things other crappy phones have and they use them as selling points against iPhones. The crappy Sprint Samsung iPhone clone actually had videos on the product home page comparing it with the iphone. The Samsung device is a ****** little product, and it’s pitch-point was “The iPhone doesn’t have voice dialing”.
So, that’s the reason the OS 3.0 should contain voice dialing and other crap… not that their needed, but because of a selling point. I don’t wanna’ hear Sprint salesmen talkin’ **** like “Well, iPhones don’t have this…” at the mall or hear idiots online say “iPhones can never replace my Xf3748-32i model because iPhones don’t have this…” or whatever.
So I look toward to Apple adding stuff, whether it’s something we’ll really use or not.

So I was using the NYTimes app and up popped a message. I thought it was finally saying The New York Times was charging for content and wasn’t going to offer free content or something. But instead, it asked to review the app in the app store.
Wow, that’s nice and refreshing. Most people, including myself, only review apps when they’re uninstalling them. I like that the NYTimes app has done this.

So I’m sittin’ here, goin’ through some of my music collection on the NeoComp (my desktop)… doin’ some house cleaning, and I just thought about needing to send pictures off to some people, and I said to myself “Man, it would be a lot better if I could send a short video clip to them instead from my iPhone. Are we gonna’ be able to email video once OS 3.0 comes out?”
That brings up a good question; will we? I mean, I don’t see why not. Let us keep it short, sure… even 5 – 10 seconds long, that’s cuttin’ it pretty short, but sure… I’d be down with emailing a short vid clip rather than nothing at all, ya know?
I hope that’s the case. I don’t want this to be like it was with my old cell phone… taking videos was great, I could play them for people in person with my cell phone, but in order to share them I had to connect it to a computer, transfer it and email it out from the PC. I don’t want this to be at the case with iPhones. I assume it won’t and they’ll allow us to email video. I don’t need Edge or 3G email even, just let us do it from Wifi at the very least.

It’s been reported that a Hulu app will be coming to iPhones in a few months (once the iPhone 3.0 OS comes out).
This would be ****** amazing! Being able to watch The Office or American Dad over Wifi (or 3G for those of you that have it). Wow…
Hulu’s done some real shady **** in the past though, so I wouldn’t put it past them to never come through with it. So, I ain’t holdin’ my breath for it.
